The Tradition

The alleys and the Parthenopean colors preserve a centuries-old tradition, the ancient Neapolitan tailoring, among the most elegant and renowned in Italy. To date, this tradition is handed down from many craft shops where every secret is handed down from generation to generation. A handmade dress requires time and attention, the tailor performs thousands of operations in a silent liturgy made of knowledge and manual skills to make the garment unique and inimitable.

MEETING WITH THE CUSTOMER
The first step in the creation of a tailored suit is the first meeting between the tailor and the customer where the type of garment to be made, the colors and the quality of the fabric are chosen. During the meeting, the tailor will take the customer’s measurements and write down all the details of the conformation and posture of the latter.

MODEL DRAWING
Once the customer’s measurements have been taken and verified, you go to the work bench, the tailor with a paper pattern draws with a line and chalk directly on the fabric.

CUT
Hold the scissors, the tailor on the basis of the design and considering the necessary margins with precision carve the fabric and create the first form of the artisan work.

FRAME
The clothes are made following the framing technique: the tailor places the “front” of the jacket on a previously created canvas and models it by hand with a special wooden template. This particular passage gives the jacket a solid and well-defined structure and allows to keep intact the softness of the precious fabrics used.

FIRST TRY
At this stage the customer wears the basted garment and still without linings, to allow the tailor to identify and make the necessary changes, aimed at achieving perfection of the shapes and taking care of every detail.

SECOND TEST
The second test is useful to fine-tune the made garment millimetrically and also the fitting of the details through the seams made exclusively by hand. At this point the customer will wear the garment again to ensure that the tailor can make the final impression.

DELIVERY
Now reached the final stages of processing, the details are made by hand and the garment is carefully ironed to return the final shape to the fabric.
